Our goal, where we stand, and how to reach us

Our goal

We want everyone to be able to use this site online, including people who use a keyboard instead of a mouse, a screen reader, screen magnification or zoom, or who need strong contrast or less motion.

The standard we work to

We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. That is the public checklist US courts and the Department of Justice use when they look at whether a business website is usable under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Every change to the site's main branch is checked with automated accessibility tools, and we check pages by hand with a keyboard. This page describes our goal and where we stand; it is not a legal certification.

What works today

  • Every page sets its language, and nothing blocks zooming in.
  • A “Skip to content” link is the first thing on every ordering page, and the keyboard focus outline is visible.
  • Every control is a real button or link with a name that says what it does. The category filter, quantity steppers, pickup-day and pickup-time pickers, and the cart all work with the keyboard.
  • Adding to and removing from your order, form errors and “order placed” are announced to screen readers. After you remove an item, “Undo” stays until you change your cart again.
  • Page titles, section headings and product names are real headings, and the products are a list you can step through.
  • Sold-out and unavailable items say so in words, never by color alone, and their text keeps full contrast.
  • Animations stop when your device asks for reduced motion.

Known gaps

  • We have not yet finished a full review of the ordering pages with a screen reader. Until we have, some things may be read out in a confusing order; please tell us if they are.
  • The dark color scheme has not been checked as fully as the light one.

How to ask for help

If anything on this site gets in your way, we will take your order another way:

  • Call the shop you are ordering from; its number is on its home page.

Tell us the page and what happened, and we will fix it.
